Warmness Negotiation

Yesterday Bean and I jockeyed over who got to sit next to Agatha for lunch. It was a wonderfully cool summer day, with a threat of rain, finally. I had been sitting next to Agatha while surfing the net, only to have Bean take my seat while I was making her some lunch. (Sneaky devil!)

Me: "Bean, move over! I was sitting there..."

Bean: "Noooo, I want to sit next to Agatha."

Me: "Bean, I was already sitting there, scoot over."

Bean: (Not moving.) "I can't resist the warmness!"

So, I let her have my seat. How could I argue with that logic?

Next Year, Bean

I just know that next year you will be [finally] tall enough to ride the SHARC slide at Sunriver...

At least you got to ride the bumper cars this year, though!

Vacation Can't Start Soon Enough For Someone

My mom is picking Bean up in an hour to take her to Sunriver a day earlier than us. I don't think Bean is that excited,  do you?

Good Grief

Bean has been delighted to have Nutella sandwiches for her lunch at day camp everyday. However, she's not a fan of the bread crust.  Yesterday morning I cut the crust off, only to have her eat to the edge of where the crust would have been and bring that back home at the end of the day.

According To Bean

These are triangle hat chips.

Following up on the bright side...

The good news is from what can be seen from the CT scan they did, Eddie's insides are in good shape, including his appendix and his liver. His gallstone from a year ago or so was MIA in the images we looked at. And in the end,  it seems as though my dear Eduardo is suffering from a lot, and I mean a lot, of painful gas in his chest.

Even the ER doc was surprised by how much he had in there!

The bad news is that he is still very uncomfortable until it all goes away and there isn't anything to speed up the process other than time.

Unfortunately, the pain and discomfort, not to mention our nearly 6 hours of waiting at the hospital and being seen, means that work he needed to get done yesterday afternoon is now being done at these wee hours in the morning as its due for a very early morning meeting in a couple of hours.

I've made coffee to help him out.

Fortunately, the girls are at grandma's again (she is a lifesaver!) for the night. My mom helped out by taking Eddie to the urgent care while I got the girls from day camp before they closed and then met them out there. Nice arrival pass off of the girls to her at urgent care where they went back to her house to enjoy hamburgers from Dairy Queen for dinner and then games and water fights in the backyard until time for bed. Lucky ducks! I don't know how we would have managed having them in the hospital ER lobby let alone the ER room he was in, too, if she hadn't been able to take them. Like I said in my earlier post, man, what a cast of interesting characters who come through an ER in a given point of time!

If you are a writer and lacking material, just hang out in an ER lobby for an hour and you will have more than you ever needed.

On a side note, I highly recommend the chicken piccata from the hospital cafeteria that I ate for a late dinner. Delicious and well-priced!

On the bright side...

At least Eddie met his deductible for this year with his wrist.

We are waiting in the ER to be seen. Think it could be his gallstones or gallbladder. He's in a lot of pain. We are at least able to joke that maybe he's having labor pains for an alien child in his chest.

I should have brought a book for the wait.

Also, I'm convinced ER staff are not paid what they should be.
